Suska Industries, LLC and SplashGuard™ started as an idea born in 1997 when Michael F. Suski became frustrated with the current urinal screens claiming anti-splash but not delivering.
About the “Fighting” Founder
At that time, Mike had just retired from a successful amateur and professional boxing career. As an amateur, Mike won the P.A.L. National Championship, Muhammed Ali’s Black Expo, and fought on the US Boxing Team competing in the 1988 and 1992 Olympic trials. As a professional, Mike fought in both cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. He was most noted for his cruiserweight success where he was ranked #10 in the world by the IBC, fought on national television, and set an all time record on ESPN2 for number of punches landed and thrown.

During his 12 year boxing career, Mike worked personal security for Donald Trump in Palm Beach and trained with some of the most successful boxers in the world including James “Lights Out” Toney, Chris Byrd, David Tua, and Dwight Muhammad Qawi. After retirement, Mike transitioned to a successful personal fitness training career where he was known for his killer work outs, fast fitness results and witty quips that kept his clients entertained.

Today, Mike and his wife Michelle continue to live a fit lifestyle including exercise, hiking and on occasion he helps the neighborhood kids with boxing skills. He and Michelle spend most of their time visiting with friends and family, going to the movies and raising their son Michael G. born 7/10/07.
A Family Affair
Though successful in the fitness world, Mike remembered something his father lovingly told him years ago, “you’re not going to be a 9 to 5 guy”. This got the wheels turning and shortly after retirement, while working as a personal fitness trainer, he began working on prototypes for an anti-splash urinal screen now known as SplashGuard™. He started with chicken wire double rolled in a cylinder which produced a filtering effect. Mike then teamed with his father, Michael R., who was a master electrician by trade, but an inventor in his own rite having developed and patented a hunting accessory years ago. Together they worked on different designs and materials and 2 patents with 40+ claims later they had developed the superior product we know today as SplashGuard™ - an anti-splash urinal screen, pad and filter system.
In January 2007, the Suski’s went public and established Suska Industries, LLC. “Suska” is in honor of Michael D., Mike’s grandfather and Michael R.’s father. Michael D.’s original surname was "Suska", which was discovered in 1995 when a 1920 birth certificate was found. As another honor to his grandfather and heritage, Mike used the name “Suska” during part of his professional boxing career.
During the early times Mike would go around and leave a SplashGuard™ sample in the urinals of his favorite places such as restaurants and movie theaters. It was a selfish gesture, but weeks later SplashGuard™ would still be there because the customers loved it!
Today, Michael F. and Michael R. continue to work on designs for improving urinal hygiene and anti-splash products.
